Russian Winter Records: Ehrnman/Pearson Signing
Kansas City based folk-rock duo Ehrnman/Pearson have been signed by Midwest indie record label Russian Winter Records. Their debut album or EP, to be produced by label founder Ric Gordon, is expected to be released late summer or early fall 2018.
Corniglia: Corniglia
Perth, Australia psych/shoegaze duo Corniglia have released their S/T debut album. With a sound that is in the same vein as Warpiant, Tennis and similar bands, the album delivers eleven tracks of catchy music, drenched with tons of reverb, clean melodic guitars and ethereal vocals. There is no new ground broken here and the album is highly derivative. That aside, the album is thoroughly enjoyable but also undistinguished. Stream and buy Corniglia at the link below.
Hollywood Sinners: Khome Kakka
Spanish punk rockers Hollywood Sinners are back with their fourth album Khome Kakka. The eleven tracks recall bands like The Ramones and The Clash, and Undertones. Stark, lofi and edgy this is a band that keeps punk's beginnings front and center. The album is compelling musically, but has limited accessibility with only two tracks in English, but this is a minor issue. Who can really understand most words in a song anyway. What you get here is great melodic punk rock, with chimey guitars and straight forward songs. Stream and buy Khome Kakka at the link below.

Phantoms vs Fire: Swim
Swim is the new album from Italian instrumental master Phantoms vs Fire, aka artist/producer Thiago C. Desant. The thirteen tracks are a clear vision of where classical music could be heading if its culture ever advances beyond their archaic musical prejudices. What one finds here is a world of melodies, emotions and textures. Utilizing both traditional instruments and synthesizers, Desant creates a unique, original musical experience of depth and beauty. This album is totally compelling and an absolute must have. Stream and buy Swim at the link below.
Blackwater: Istanbul
Istanbul is the debut 7" from London electronic duo Blackwater. The two tracks, about 15 minutes of music, are innovate melodic explorations of movement interwoven with drone. From the chimes of Woodstock, with almost tribal rhythms, to the bells of Istanbul, where a mystical feel prevails, again set to primal rhythms, with warm, well balanced and interesting ambient textures. Stream and buy Istanbul in vinyl or digital at the link below.

Boomarm Nation: Family Album
Portland electronic pioneers Boomarm Nation bring us their 5th Annual Family Alum. The 20 tracks span this fine eclectic label's breadth of stylish and innovative electronic music. You'll get stunning artistry from Argentina's Silvio Astier, Palestinian beat genius Muquat'a, and the notorius sounds of Tropical Camel. The Mayhem Lecture Series: Structures And Behaviors
Arctic Dub Records brings us Structures And Behaviors, the debut EP from Porto, Portugal based The Mayhem Lecture Series, aka producer Dave Wesley. The three tracks are extended experimental works categorized into personality traits and disorders. With glitchy synths, imaginative editing and some dub style lines, this work defies genre expectations. What one gets is a compelling exploration into electronic music as a work of art, rather than simply an aural experience. This is adventurous music for adventurous listeners. Stream and buy Structures And Behaviors at the link below.
On The Wane: Schism
Schism is the sultry new album from Kiev post-punk band On The Wane. The ten tracks are dark, noisey, deep, sexy and stunning. The band takes a shoegazy base and mixes it with a razors edge to deliver an album so compelling on looses free will. The album makes twangy guitars into a weapon of rock, rather than a pop cliche. This album is heavy, yet melodic and delivers in all the right places. This is already destined to be one of our favorite albums of the year and is an absolute must have. Dyr Fraser: Hauntingly Beyond
Boston based FZB favorites Dyr Fraser are back with a new EP, Hauntingly Beyond. The duo of Eric Boomhower and Amelia May deliver four tracks of atmospheric psychedelic music, with tons of reverb, a dark sheen and droney overtones. Twangy guitar lines move the pieces forward as vocals and synths swirl about in an endless cacophony of tasty pop music. The EP could benefit from a better production as the vocals are too buried, and EQ notching would separate the instruments more; but as a whole this is a thoroughly enjoyable work. Stream and buy Hauntingly Beyond at the link below.

Iglomat: The Man Made Man
UK label KFM Records bring us The Man Made Man, the fourth album from FZB favorite Iglomat. Creeper is the latest EP from Toronto postpunk band Brenda. The five tracks assault you with edgy, reverby and stylish music that defies convention. Electric Bird Noise: Nam Wen Eht Fo Htrib
Nam Wen Eht Fo Htrib is the new long form ambient piece by FZB favorite Electric Bird Noise. Released on North Carolina indie Silber Records, the 21 minute piece explores the depths of dark ambient loops, and processed guitar sounds and passages, to create a sonic space that is both soft and textural, as well as sinister and foreboding. The unique interplay between the creepy and the sublime creates a musical work of depth and movement, where the listener feels the music transporting them somewhere, rather than just hanging about in the ether. The Foreign Films: The Record Collector Side 1
The Record Collector, Side 1, is the first side of a triple vinyl release coming from FZB favorite The Foreign Films, aka Canadian artist/producer Bill Majoros. The album is an indie rock romp through Majoros' life, both real and imaginary, and the music that made him. The Foreign Films always deliver finely crafted pop/rock, with great hooks, harmonies and a bit of the best of the Beatles influence. If Side 1 is any indication, this huge undertaking of making a triple vinyl album will yield a superlative work of indie rock. Stream and buy The Record Collector Side 1 and pre-order the whole package at the link below.

Michael Trew: Waiting in the Wings
Waiting in the Wings is the debut solo album from singer/songwriter Michael Trew. The nine tracks are stylish flokrock, that recalls Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and other similar artists. The songs are intimate and delivered with a strong voice and sterling musicianship. The album has a bit of a theatrical flair and nods to the grandiose at times. This gives the album a bit of a dated feel, but it holds together well throughout and satisfies thoroughly. Stream and buy Waiting in the Wings at the link below.

M Is We: Oceans & The Corrupting Sea: Looking To the Stars
One of our favorite indie labels is North Carolina's Silber Records. Finely curated by artist/producer Brian John Mitchell, the label spans wondrous soundscapes from delicately crafted ambient to edgy punk regimes. Today we have two tasty new releases from the label.
Oceans is the new album from M is We. The eights tracks are edgy post punk, with poignant lyrics and a sound fit for a dark Brooklyn dive. Brash and noisey, the tracks are gems of punkish dilemma.
The Corrupting Sea's EP, Looking To the Stars, is another entry in the label's 5 in 5 series, where artists do 5, one minute songs on the EP. This EP is an ambient post-rock look at ingenious synthesizer pads and patterns.
Stream and buy both of these excellent works at the links below.

Franck Vigroux: Barricades
Barricades is the debut album from French ambient auteur Franck Vigroux. The eight tracks are dark, with elegantly expressive lines of imaginative synth pads. The sultry waves and overtones create the air of true movement within the sonic experience, while noise manifests itself as dissociated wafts of the music it originated from. This album is transcendental, beautiful and well crafted. An absolute must have. Stream and buy Barricades at the link below.

R.U.U.N.E.: Hex Collection
The Hex Collection is the new EP from Massachusetts based artist/producer R.U.U.N.E. The six tracks are stark, dance synth music. With enough edge to make a razor blush, and noise used as intimidation, the EP is also a gender statement meant to shake expectations and seize emotions. The music is imaginative and original, with lyrics unafraid to make a statement, with all record proceeds going to Derive's Scholarship Fund. Stream and buy Hex Collection at the link below.

The Fuzillis: Grind A Go Go
Grind A Go Go is the new album from The Fuzillis. The sixteen tracks are the most fun you can have since Shindig went off the air, or The Stray Cats first burst on the scene. This is rock-n-roll, not in some lame of commercial sence, the is primal 50's based rock, the like of which would make Jerry Lee Lewis and Link Wray blush. Lo-fi, blaring sax and enough twang to cause an earthquake, the real deal, This album is an absolute must have...if you have the cajones. Stream and buy Grind A Go Go at the link below.
