When Everyone Is Getting Wise is the sophomore album from Washington DC psych outfit Peanut Butter and Dave. The duo of David Diaz and Paul Bugala serve up nine tracks of dynamic post-punk tinged indie rock. With a melodic grounding and heavy touches, Peanut Butter and Dave have put together an album of broad appeal. Stylistically in the same vein as Weezer, this album is fun, rocking and well produced. Beneath The Mango Tree is the debut full length from L.A. freak folk group Synthetic Colours.  The trio of Austin Kowalczyk , Yvonne Eadon and John Sanchez have delivered 8 tracks of rollicking indie music. Today marks the release of Emergency Broadcast System, the new EP from FZB favorites Anakin. The trio of Chris Rosenthal, Brad Chancellor and Brent Windler are a consistently first rate shoegaze band. The five tracks have an alt rock radio ready vocal and melodic feel, make good use of synthesizer, have enough heavy guitar to satisfy anyone and drums that are rock solid. Polyan & the Johnson Sisters: June

 

June is the debut album from L.A. pop outfit Polyan & the Johnson Sisters. The 12 tracks are a grungy mix of lo-fi, jug band and dreampop. In the same vein as Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros there is a "the gangs all here" feel to the record. The tracks abound in a good time vibe and have the kind of live feel that makes this type of album really work. Step up to this one and have some fun. Halt Ever: Therapy

 

Therapy is the debut EP from Australian shoegaze band Halt Ever. The three tracks have a lo-fi production quality married to a post-punk vibe. The EP has some dreampop qualities to it, but is more raw than typical for that genre. Think heavier than Real Estate, but not as raw as Cloud Nothings. From Darkness To Light is the debut album from Toronto folk-rock artist Jenn Fiorentino. The ten tracks are a rollicking acoustic set that, to quote the artist "lives and breathes because of my association with punk, even if my own music has taken on many different characters and shapes." Fiorentino has a sophisticated voice and songwriting style. Engaging and intimate, this album hints at an artist with a potential for greatness. Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Weekend Riot Club have dropped their debut album, Psychotropia. From the very first note you'll know that this is no ordinary debut. Lead vocalist Melissa Marchese has a sultry, rocked out style that perfectly matches the powerful and proficient instrumentals from Mike Chetcuti on guitar and Paul Fontes on drums.
