Echo Shade is the alter ego of UK musician/producer Lewis Woods. His self-titled debut EP is full of lo-fi, shoegazey synth melodies. Understated beats and minimalist production deliver pop tracks that lend themselves to both active listening and as background to other life pursuits. This is an admirable quality, interesting enough to warrant attention, but also unpretentious and light. There are many textures and shades of imagery in Echo Shade with just the right amount of noise to liven things up. This EP is ultimately listenable and doesn't wear with repetition.
