Party Music! is the new album from Chicago's Phil Yates & The Affiliates. The ten tracks are energetic rock in the vein of Jimmy Eat World and All American Rejects. With plenty of fuzzy twang, catchy melodies and good hooks, the band serve up a record that grabs one's attention and then holds on. This is a strong record, if somewhat derivative, but what commercial music isn't these days. The album is aptly named as this is great music to put on when friends are over and you want to get a party going. It's music guaranteed to put a smile on you face.
